- getting the flu
- throwing up a couple of times and spending days in bed
- going to the doctor
- getting tested for malaria
- tests results showing i don't have malaria (yipee!) but that i have had the dengue fever in the past (what?) - which i was told is a virus i will have for life......
- feeling a little better after a week
- getting my third gardasil shot (hurt so bad - like injecting poison in my arm!)
- waking up in the middle of the night with horrible pains in my right arm, leg and chest. thinking i'm having a heart attack or that i have a blood clot that's headed to my heart
- going to the doctor again - get sent the IMC for a CT-SCAN, to find out if it is a blood clot
sitting in the waiting room with tyler in pain and a bit scared- being hooked up to an IV and told that they will inject a concentrate into my veins that will make me feel like i've peed my pants.........totally thought i did! it was such a strange feeling
- learning that no blood clot was found (yipee again!) but that i'd just developed an infection from the gardasil
- going home to ice my infected arm and dope up on ibuprofen
- waking up the next morning and feeling a ton better
thanks to my patient and wonderful husband for suffering through these last couple of weeks with me. he took care of me and did whatever he could to make me more comfortable - and i'll love him everyday for it.

Sounds like no fun, Dru! I hope that you continue to feel better.
Glad it's not Swine. :) Welcome back. Let's go to lunch. Ooo, or see you at Bobbie's thing on Thursday.
dru- matt and i have been really nervous that you were going to die of the swine flu...or just die for that matter! we are so glad that you are finally feeling better!!!
I have always known you've had Dengue Fever. I just didn't want to hurt your feelings! You're the best and it makes me happy that you are doing chipper! maybe you had this because you are too "skinny"! Hope you read the double meaning in that! Ha Ha!
Scary. Glad that you are feeling better. I watch a program on Gardisal. A lot of people have scary reactions to it. Glad your doing better.
I hope that you are much better now. Let me know when you want me to bring some chicken noodle soup over. Yucky for being so sick. I am sorry!
I sure love you!
Ew- I HATE being sick. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Being sick DOES make you appreciate health huh?! I remember feeling that exact same way you did during 4 months of constant morning sickness. Hallelujah for health! Take care and we need to go to lunch er somethin.
oh my dru I had that too in vietnam! it was the worst. i thought i might die. did you feel like your head was going to explode? you poor poor soul!
so sorry this happened to you, dru. out of curiosity (as one who's been infected with funky foreign diseases), were you exposed to dengue in Africa or the DR?
